In the mid 1990's, Michael Metzner worked as a production manager for Performing Arts Projects, one of Melbourne's most distinctive, popular and well-known theatre producers. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts from Monash University and a Bachelor of Film and Television from the Victorian College of the Arts. Michael's films and videos have been supported by the Australian Film Commission, distributed by the Australian Film Institute, and have screened and won awards at a number of international festivals.
Michael entered the film and television industry as a 1st Assistant Director on music clips and television commercials, before founding Snapper Screen Productions Pty Ltd in 2002. Through Snapper, Michael has worked as a producer, director, and editor, creating a diverse range of film and video content across a multitude of screen platforms.
Michael is a founding member of Monster Pictures, a Melbourne-based distribution and production company launched in August 2010. Monster Pictures is dedicated to delivering energetic, unique, creative, innovative, provocative and challenging cinema. Having already distributed a number of films, Monster is currently in pre-production for its first feature, 'The Devil In Baby Joan'.

Underdogs, the series Snapper produced for MCM Media as part of Pedigree’s Adoption Drive went down a treat on-line. So much so that Snapper was asked to re-packaged it as a pilot which screened in January on Channel 9’s HD channel GEM. The number of dog adoiptions increased 78% on the previous year.

The viral ad that Snapper produced for Fleet Partners got the better of some on-line editors and found its way onto ninemsn’s homepage as a top news item - ‘Shocked diners: Angry man rips car apart in busy street’.

Snapper is currently producing an eight part, on-line series for MCM Media to promote Pedigree and Pet Rescue’s adoption drive. The series will follow the journey of a number of ‘underdogs’ in their quest to find a new loving home.
